LOTS OF TRAVELING

Wow, this week has been super long. We went to Rosario 3 times this week! And we also had district meeting in CarcaraƱa, which means we had to travel to get there as well. We also had to go the terminal when Hermana Thornton got her new companion. It's just Hermana Matias and I now. :) We waited and traveled a ton this week, but we were still able to talk to lots of people and share what we believe with people on the bus, in the taxis, and with other missionaries. There is always an opportunity to share your testimony.

Claudia is doing well! Her friend in La Pampa is going to send her her birth certificate and then they can get married! We have to wait until it gets here, but then they can get married. We are excited for them. The thing that I love most about Claudia is that she already has a strong testimony of the Book of Mormon. Whenever we share a story or a scripture, she can immediately apply it to her life and how it can help her. She is super great. :)

We didn't really have much more time to visit more people in our area this week. But one of the reasons we went to Rosario was to have Zone Conference! It was amazing. I am super grateful for my leaders and the opportunity to learn and grow.

The part that hit me the most during this conference was that if we don't do the work for our ancestors, they can't progress. If we don't find their names and take them to the temple, they can't enter through the gates of baptism and make those covenants with Heavenly Father. We have a really important work to do. The works that are going to continue during the millennium are missionary work, family history, and temple work. So we better get used to working now. ;)

We also had a talent show this week in our ward! We had to plan it all, so we didn't have much time for that as well. But it went super well! We and the other missionaries made a super funny skit. We made the gold plates and everything! It was super fun. I love being a missionary!

Love,
Hermana Wood :)

Week 3

Dear Mom,

This week was so great! We had lots of fun this week. Some of the things we did were we moved all of our beds out into the living room so that would have sleepovers every night. It is so much more fun to be with all the Hermanas and to bond more while we are at home. However, we did fail our cleaning inspection because of it, but we told the branch presidency what was going on and they fully supported us in our endeavors. :) Another fun thing we did today was go Brigham's Landing with our whole district! It was so fun and I love when people stop us and talk to us. I feel so cool. It definitely reminds me that I am a representative of Jesus Christ and I always need to act like it.

This week was full of music for me. A district that left for Mexico on Monday asked me to accompany them on Sunday at the devotional that is broadcast to all the other MTC's and is in front of both main campus and west campus. They sand, "If You Could Hie to Kolob." I loved playing for them. However, after this experience, I got called to be the Music Coordinator for our branch. I never get any callings besides music callings. So I guess I should get used to it. ;)

We got a new investigator this week. His name is Javier. We teach him on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday for two weeks. Let me tell you, he is brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. He is a professor at BYU and he is a Mormon in real life, but he is a really hard investigator. For example, all in Spanish, he asked us how we know there wasn't an apostasy after Heavenly Father called Joseph Smith to be a prophet and if we need to have a testimony of each individual prophet in the latter-days to make sure that the doctrine hasn't been lost. It was crazy and we told him we would study his question and get back to him on that. We realized we should have talked about the authority of the priesthood and how it is the same priesthood since Jesus, but obviously we didn't know to say that in Spanish to this man. These next two weeks will be interesting, but it has already been a big learning experience.

We got another district of 12 elders today!!! There are us four Hermanas and 40 Elders. It is so crazy. We get picked on all the time, but it is so fun. We are getting a new zone and district leader this week, so there will be lots of change.

Yesterday, Bruce C. Hafen talked to us about the temple and how much power it brings into our lives. We are beyond blessed to live in Utah where we have at least 5 temples that are an hour away. So many people do not have that blessing and I hope we are all using it to the fullest extent. I went to the temple and did sealings today and it was such a great experience. I am so excited to go to the temple in the future!!

I love you!
Love,
Hermana Wood :)
